Built a new bike

Matt outgrew his mountain bike and we figured we could do well by building a bike ourselves. This was greatly aided by my benevolent and bike riding friends John and James who helped with advice and a ton of parts. So here is is weighing in at just over 21lbs.

Current Parts List:
  • Monument Buckhorn Frame
  • Manitou Black Fork

  • Mavic / XT Wheeset

  • Hayes HFX MMAG Brakes
  • XT Shifters / XT Derailleurs

  • Easton Carbon Seat Post (Dad is jealous)

  • KORE Bars and stem
  • XT "Hollowtech" Crank

Just about done

Everything is looking good. The stone is all up and the concrete done. The outside is basically finished except for paint on the garage doors (dark brown) and final grading and clean up. The interior is in good shape as well again needing cleanup an some touch up and finally the carpet.

One step closer

The final coat of stucco is on the outside of the house although they still need to add stone to the front. Also if you look close you will notice that there are blankets on the ground. They are thawing the ground to pour the driveway so the next pictures will show it (the driveway)!

The kitchen is almost done. Cabinets are in the countertop is done and the backsplash just needs grout. The wood floor needs to be finished and the electric and plumbing finished and it's all set.

Stucco and Flooring

Contractors have been busy even through the holidays. The drywall is done, textured and painted. The wood floor is down but needs stained and the tile floors are started. On the outside they have the first coat or scratch coat of the stucco done. They will put one more coat on which will have the color but need to wait for a little warmer weather.

Drywall and Stucco

Well there hasn't been much to take pictures of lately. Over the last month all of the plumbing, electrical and HVAC has been completed. Not too much the final framing and all the insulation. Now the Drywall is going up inside and the house is being prepared for stucco on the outside. (that's the black paper and chicken wire all over the house)

Weatherproof!!

Well these pictures might not look very different than the last but if you look close you will notice that the garage doors and front door are in -- this means the house is weatherproof!! So it looks like they have beat all the major storms of the year which is good, it snows more in our new neighborhood. Framing is progressing on the inside as well. The dining room is coming along, the kitchen and family room look good and the basement has been started.

It snowed

Well luckily the windows are in and the tar paper is on the roof. It snowed a couple inches last night. It was just a light snow and no wind so not much really blew in.
